The vaginal ring or pills are examples of hormonal contraceptives and, as such, help to regulate a woman's menstrual cycle. In addition, hormonal contraceptives prevent dysmenorrhoea, i.e. women suffering from severe pain during menstruation.
Hormonal contraceptives are therefore suitable for women with irregular periods, heavy bleeding periods or periods with severe pain.
