Artificial insemination (AI), also known as intrauterine insemination (IUI) is an uncomplicated technique in which sperm are deposited inside the woman's uterus.
In cases of female infertility, AI can help to achieve gestation when the causes are:
- Mild endometriosis.
- Ovulatory dysfunctions.
- Cervical factor.
However, there are a series of requirements to be able to perform AI, such as being under 35-38 years of age and having tubal patency.
