In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is an assisted reproduction procedure in which fertilisation takes place in the laboratory.
IVF is the technique indicated to try to achieve pregnancy in cases of female infertility caused by:
- Tubal factor.
- Low reserve.
- Advanced maternal age.
- Endometriosis.
However, IVF is also recommended in cases of infertility of unknown origin and after previous failures of artificial insemination (AI).
