Cervicitis, or inflammation of the cervix, is a condition that affects more than half of the female population. The main cause of cervicitis is usually sexually transmitted infections. However, certain factors increase the risk of cervicitis:
- Risky sexual behaviour
- Early sexual intercourse
- History of sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Menopause
