Possible causes of cryptorchidism

Cryptorchidism is characterized by incomplete descent of the testicles in males. There are several reasons that can cause this alteration such as problems in the inguinal ligament, genetic alterations, premature births or even exposure to certain toxic substances such as pesticides.

In addition, low birth weight babies or smoking mothers are at risk for cryptorchidism.
