The endometrium is renewed during each menstrual cycle. If there is no pregnancy, the endometrium sheds and menstruation begins.
Embryo implantation is possible when the endometrium is receptive. For this it is important that it is approximately 7-10 mm thick and has a trilaminar aspect. These are the ideal endometrial characteristics to favor embryo implantation and, therefore, pregnancy.
