Endometriosis is a disease that causes female infertility due to the growth of abnormal tissue in places other than the uterus, including the ovaries and the Fallopian tubes.
When the endometrial implants are located in the tubes, they cause a blockage that makes it difficult for the sperm to reach the egg. After ovulation, the egg cannot travel from the tube to the uterus. In other words, it impedes fertilization and embryo implantation.
