Hey, this is Megan and it’s always been my wish to be a mommy at a young age. Now that I’m 25 years old, I’ve started Ttc. Not that it’s been an easy path… finally I’ve found out I’ll need donor eggs to have a baby because my body just doesn’t produce eggs. It’s a kind of genetic disorder… Anyway my ovaries don’t work and according to doctor, my uterus is fine and I could stand a labor, the problem are just my eggs. My boyfriend is also 25, no sperm pathologies reported. I wanted to ask if there is any young woman who’s received donor eggs to have a baby too or what are my chances, if any. I’m devastated, so any help would be highly encouraging.

There exist several causes why a woman may need to turn to egg donation. Some causes are related to age, but others are related to genetics, or any other disorder. This is the reason why it is possible that young women may have no choice but to use donor eggs in order to have a baby.
As a woman gets older, her ovarian reserve keeps on diminishing, and that’s the reason why women older than 40 usually need donor eggs to get pregnant; but there are also other reasons, like: premature ovarian failure, genetic syndromes (e.g. Turner Syndrome), absence of ovaries, or cancer treatments.
If fertility tests indicate you’ve got a normal, receptive uterus, and your partner’s semen sample is right, then your chances of becoming pregnant are quite high. Pregnancy success rates of IVF with donor eggs can be as high as 70% in many cases.
I wish you all the best,
Best regards
04/26/2016 at 1:54 pmHi and welcome! Try looking onto Eastern Europe. I’m currently undergoing treatments overseas, so can share some of the experiences. We went donor egg route as mine are useless. See, we moved abroad because of more affordable prices as had already spend a fortune on previous IUIs & IVFs. Feel free to pm me. Wishing you the best with your research!
