Although the ICSI technique is usually recommended for men with a severe male factor, there are other situations where it is also a good option. Among them are the following:
- Frozen sperm sample before starting an oncological treatment, either radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
- Low ovarian reserve in women.
- Ova with thickened zona pellucida.
However, there is no exact rule, but it is important to know each particular situation in order to evaluate the best fertility treatment.
