Seminal value of oligospermia

Oligozoospermia, also called oligospermia, is a seminal alteration that refers to the concentration of spermatozoa in the ejaculate. This alteration in the semen is diagnosed on the basis of a seminogram.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a semen sample must have at least 15 million spermatozoa per mL of ejaculate or more than 39 million in total to be considered normal semen. Otherwise, when the semen sample contains less than 15 million sperm per mL of ejaculate, the male is diagnosed with oligospermia.
