Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is one of the possible risks that can occur during artificial insemination (AI) treatment, due to the hormonal drugs that the woman must administer. Among the most common symptoms of OHSS are:
- Swelling.
- Nausea and abdominal pain.
- Buildup of fluid in the abdomen.
However, it is very rare for OHSS to occur during AI, since ovarian stimulation is performed with low doses of medication.
