In order to perform an artificial insemination (AI), it is essential that the quality of the semen is good and that the woman is able to ovulate, as well as having permeable fallopian tubes. Despite meeting these requirements for AI, this fertility treatment is not always successful. This will depend on other factors such as, for example, the woman's age:
- The woman's age.
- The cause of infertility.
- The origin of the sperm.
- The ovarian stimulation protocol applied.
- Endometrial receptivity.
