Inflammation of the fallopian tubes (salpingitis) may be one of the causes of female sterility due to a tubal factor. This inflammation makes it difficult for the egg and sperm to meet, making it difficult for a natural pregnancy to occur.
A possible solution is to resort to assisted reproduction. However, artificial insemination is not possible. Women diagnosed with salpingitis should undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) to increase the chance of achieving pregnancy.
