Alterations in the various blood components and blood clotting factors can have an impact on the development of the pregnancy.
Throughout pregnancy, a woman will experience alterations in some of the blood factors. When thrombin is formed after the entire clotting cascade, an inflammatory response occurs that could cause pregnancy loss. In addition, thrombi in the placental blood vessels may lead to placental insufficiency.
