One of the possible causes of leucospermia is seminal tract infections. The presence of bacteria or other microorganisms in the gonads, seminal ducts and accessory glands could cause an infection and thus increase the number of leucocytes in the semen.
The most frequent seminal infections are:
- Orchitis or inflammation of the testicles.
- Epididymitis or inflammation of the epididymis.
In addition, a combination of both seminal infections can occur and cause orchiepidididymitis.
