The process for a woman who undergoes IVF with egg donation is much simpler than if she undergoes IVF with her own eggs. The patient only has to prepare her endometrium for the embryo transfer.
To do this, the woman is given oestrogen and progesterone. These drugs make the endometrium grow and, when it reaches 7-9 mm in thickness and trilaminar appearance, it will be ready for the embryo transfer.
Once the embryos are deposited in the uterus, the woman will have to wait about 10-12 days for the pregnancy test. This period of time is known as beta-pregnancy waiting.
