A modality of IVF with donor eggs is mini-egg donation. It is an IVF treatment where a smaller number of oocytes is received from the donor.
The most common is that in an egg donation, the recipient receives between 8 and 10 oocytes from the donor. In contrast, the number of oocytes assigned to a recipient in the case of mini-egg donation is usually 4-5. As a smaller number of oocytes are assigned, the price of the treatment is lower. In addition, not as many surplus embryos are generated.
