For an embryo to implant in the endometrium, it is essential that it be receptive. For this, it is important that the endometrial thickness be between 7 and 10 mm and that its aspect be trilaminar.
When the endometrium is less than 6 mm, the probability of embryo implantation is reduced. Therefore, if the endometrium is thin, gestation will not occur.
