Estrogens have a multitude of functions in a woman's body. They are responsible for the maturation of the reproductive organs (uterus, ovaries and tubes) and for sexual development during puberty. Thanks to the production of oestrogens, women begin to have menstrual cycles.
Other processes in which estrogens are involved are fat metabolism, bone strengthening, skin regeneration and emotional behavior, among others.
