Women with hypothyroidism have lower levels of thyroid hormone. This can cause problems such as cramps, anovulation, and more. Additionally, if a woman decides to become pregnant, it is important that she starts treatment to correct hormone levels.
Hypothyroidism in pregnant women can increase the risk of miscarriage, preterm birth, and hypertension. Therefore, it is essential to maintain good control of both the pregnancy and the condition to avoid any complications during gestation and to ensure the pregnancy reaches full term successfully.
