Multiple ovulation is the release of more than one egg in a woman's menstrual cycle. The causes of multiple ovulation can be genetic or acquired.
In the case of acquired causes, multiple ovulation may be due to:
- Overweight.
- Advanced age.
- Ovarian stimulation in fertility treatments.
- Stopping hormonal contraceptives.
