Oligospermia due to post-testicular causes

When a male undergoes a seminal analysis and obtains a concentration of spermatozoa in the ejaculate lower than 15 million, his diagnosis is oligospermia. Among the causes of this sperm alteration are post-sperm factors, either a seminal infection or obstruction of the seminal ducts.

When the seminal ducts are obstructed by trauma or the presence of an infection, it makes the passage of sperm difficult. Therefore, it can happen that these males have a correct production of sperm, but the sperm cannot leave the body.
