Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disruption that can cause problems in achieving pregnancy. Therefore, there are several therapeutic options when trying to become pregnant.
Firstly, natural pregnancy can be tried by following some lifestyle advice. For example, losing weight, stabilising insulin and cholesterol levels or taking supplements such as folic acid or myo-inositol can help women with PCOS to become mothers. If this does not work, the next step would be to use ovulation-inducing drugs.
In this case, it would be necessary to take the drugs and identify when ovulation occurs in order to have sexual intercourse. This increases the likelihood of pregnancy in women with PCOS.
