Egg quality is affected by a woman’s age. As time goes by, both the quantity and quality of oocytes decrease, which negatively impacts female fertility. In addition to age, other possible causes of poor egg quality include:
- Endometriosis.
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
- Smoking and alcohol consumption.
- Poor diet.
- Oncological treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
For this reason, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, following a balanced diet, engaging in physical activity, etc., is beneficial for overall health and also for female fertility.
