Treatments for having a child

Once the cause of repeated miscarriages has been identified, it is possible to apply the appropriate reproductive strategy to give birth to a healthy child.

The most frequent treatments are preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and drugs such as heparin and aspirin if there is an autoimmune cause.

If the sterility is of unknown origin or if viable embryos are not obtained for transfer, one option is to resort to egg and/or sperm donation.

Finally, in the most severe cases where the woman is unable to maintain a pregnancy under any circumstances, her last option to have a biological child will be surrogacy.
