Women diagnosed with thrombophilias, as well as those who are unaware of it, often have problems when trying to get pregnant. These patients often go through several embryo implantation failures in various in vitro fertilisation (IVF) cycles, as well as repeated miscarriages.
This is why it is increasingly common to request tests to find out if there is a blood clotting problem that could interfere negatively with pregnancy. In some cases, the patient will have to take aspirin or heparin during pregnancy.
