Fifty percent of patients with endometrial polyps have no symptoms at all. In the rest, the most frequent symptom is hemorrhage, either in the form of heavy bleeding during menstruation (hypermenorrhea) or between periods (metrorrhagia). Bleeding may also occur after sexual intercourse.
As a consequence of these hemorrhages, some patients suffer from anemia. Another symptom that uterine polyps can cause is pain.
