Anovulation or absence of ovulation is a disturbance in a woman's menstrual cycle. If the egg is not released monthly, the possibility of pregnancy will decrease.
Some of the reasons that cause anovulation are polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) or premature ovarian failure. In addition, alterations in the hypothalamic-pituitary axis can also cause ovulatory dysfunction.
