The stimulation of ovarian activity carried out in an AI treatment is gentle, i.e. low hormonal doses are used. However, there are many drugs that can be used in ovarian stimulation, each with its own type of mechanism of action.
Currently, the most commonly used drugs for ovarian stimulation in AI are HnRH analogs (decapeptyl), gonadotropins (Menopur) and clomiphene citrate (omifin). In the last phase of the AI process, prior to insemination, ovulation is induced by hCG hormone. The most common drug for this purpose is Ovitrelle.
