Are there risk factors for polyps?

Uterine polyps are a mass of endometrial tissue protruding from the uterus. These uterine changes are also called endometrial polyps.

The exact cause of these polyps in women is not currently known. However, there are some risk factors that increase the probability of developing a polyp.

This is the case of women with high estrogen levels, absence of ovulation, and older women. In addition, hormonal treatments are also a risk factor for the appearance of endometrial polyps.
