Obesity and overweight can affect fertility in both women and men. However, significant weight reduction or a low body mass index (BMI) also has negative effects:
Irregular menstrual cycles.
Amenorrhoea or absence of menstruation.
Endometrial alterations that would hinder embryo implantation.
Sperm alterations.
