Ovulation cycle tracking and IVF egg retrieval timeline

For mature eggs to be retrieved before natural ovulation takes place, tracking the stimulation cycle properly is crucial.

When the majority of follicles have reached a size of 18 to 18 mm, hCG administration should be started. It is used to promote ovulation within 36-48 hours after being administered.

Follicle puncture is done just before natural ovulation occurs, that is to say, within 30-34 hours before the administration of hCG shots.
