In order to obtain mature eggs before natural ovulation occurs, it is necessary to adequately control ovarian stimulation.
When most of the follicles are between 16 and 18 mm in size, the woman is instructed to administer the hCG hormone, which will promote ovulation 36-48 hours after its administration.
The puncture will be scheduled before spontaneous ovulation occurs, i.e. 30-34 hours after the hCG injection.
